Man on Fire
Man on Fire has all the elements of a good movie some of which are accompanied by unfamiliar synergies. For example, an action movie is usally mindless. Action movies usually are devoid of emotion, reality and a worhtwhile plot... Man on Fire is the ultimate exception.
While it boasts a lot of action even some grisly torture the movie never strays from it's down to earth feel. The cast works together very well, the chemistry is perfect. The setting of the movie also works very well. The atmosphere and vibe are very true to life.
Of course one of the highlights (for me) was the well integrated soundtrack which includes six songs by Nine Inch Nails but the best song (for the movie) isn't until the very end and isn't Nine Inch Nails.
The movie packs a punch and a bite, visceral action and cinematic torture that works very well outside the action movie construct. I think what keeps this aspect of the film in line is the artistic cinematic flair provided by the visual effects as well as the frenetic incorporation of subtitles.
Above all the rest... the drama factor in this movie is heart wrenching. If you're human, if you don't fight back emotion than this movie will haunt you. The ending of this movie has haunted me since the first time I saw it and just thinking about it has me choked up. Denzel Washington's last line to Dakota Fanning has seared its way into my brain and will never vanish as long as I live.
Though it may not be the ending the view expects, nor wants, I find Man on Fire's ending to be one of the most well executed endings in any movie, in any genre... ever. The entire movie is a stylish display of action, drama and perfect character chemistry... couple this with a Nine Inch Nails oriented soundtrack and for me it's a dream come true.

He's gone. And he went out in such a shitty way. There has only been a handful of stingray attacks and he is one of the statistics now. Its really hard for it too even sink in, some people I've talked to have cried. And I guess that just shows how much a person you dont even know can impact the lives of so many. I cant say I cried. Although, its very sad. That guy loved what he did, whenever you saw the guy he had a huge smile on his face, I really wish I could be like that everyday of my life, happy, and not trying to fake it either. Its crazy. I cant imainge what his family has to be going through.
Everyone says he was crazy for the whole baby thing, and maybe it wasnt the smartest thing to do in the world, okay? but still, he was a professional at what he did, he wrestled his first crocdile at the age of 9, thats crazy. How many people do you know who have done that at 9? He knew what he was doing, he was a zoologist and really cared for animals, he wasnt like the D-bag Corwin who is a fake. Iono. Its just odd. Who would of guessed that he would be gone? He was the reason that pretty much the kids my age and few years before us watched the Animal Planet, he made it what it was, and if it wasnt for him, im sure less people would have been interested in animals. Hes done more than I tihnk I could ever do with my life. Someone tried to tell me that they were going to show it on TV! No way. Way to graphic, Animal Planet and his family wouldnt allow that. Well, i need to rant about it. |

Peter Murphy of bauhaus is an ugly son of a bitch and has one of the most ear-fuck voices ever. Peter Murphy FTL. I now why Trent had him on tour, yes, the whole inspriation thing, but it was just to make himself look like 68959068790x better. Which really isnt possible. Nothing beats TR. Peter Murphy is fat and ugly.
I really hate him.

I don't consider HIM emo in the traditional sense... but at the same time I kinda do. There is "emo" the genre which is fags whining like Hawthorne Heights and then there is thoroughly emotional bands with intelligent and poetic lyrics, that's how I see HIM. It's so much to do with their sound as their message and their style... the overy emphasis on love and heartbreak is reminiscent of "emo" but HIM does it with the class lacking in most "emo" bands

On March 28, 2006 and March 30, 2006, two of NIN's live shows (Oklahoma City and El Paso respectively) were filmed in high definition for possible future DVD release [18].
On June 24th, 2006 near the end of performing at the Molson Amphitheatre [19] in Toronto, Trent Reznor confirmed there would be a new album released "shortly". He again confirmed this at the Verizon Ampitheatres in Irvine, CA and Indianapolis, IN, and Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View, CA saying that he was going back into the studio for awhile and would be releasing new material after the first of the year. He also said that he would be coming around on tour again in support of the new material.
okay, so heres what going down. Next tour. I'm going to seriously go to like 7 shows. It's a goal Tyler and myself will achieve. So whos coming with us?

Im thinking APC on my wrist and possibly Sin on my my arm.

Went to MSI with jared, jeff and travis.
Amazing.
Kill Hannah sucked balls, because well they just arent good. The dude was obssessed with HIM though. More than me. He had fucking gloves, and there like art and shit was the same. Suckio.
MSI was hilarous, more of a comedy though than a concert. They have been dubbed second favorite band behind NIN and infront of my other favorites, "Razed in Black", "London After Midnight", "Tool or APC"

Well, now that school is over things have been weird. Sleeping in til like noon everyday and just being lazy, its been kinda fun actually. I haven't given any thought of the future yet. Because worrying about it now isn't going to make me feel any better. Right now my main concern is college. I don't know what I'm going to do, as in major, and I know I have awhile to decide. What it comes down to, is do I want to do something with computer's the rest of my life. If not, it would seem like VOCA was a waste of three years if I let it all go down the crapper.
I haven't really hung out with anyone from Bellevue, and when I have, I don't remember it all that well. One thing that kinda sucks, I've just lost touch with all my friends something I told myself I wouldn't allow to happen. And it has only been two god damn weeks.
But, why should I put the blame on myself, it isn't certainly like it is all my fault. I mean, hell, if people want to hang out with me, then they can try and get ahold of me for once. Or try and make plans with me. I'm tired of having to make plans, because whenever I do it just so happens everyone I know is already doing stuff. And after that happens like every week, tend to think it's not that they have plans, it's just that they dont involve me. Oh well I guess.
So, other than that. Summer has been nothing too exicting. I'm going job hunting again some time soon. I need one of those pretty damn bad. Mindless Self Indulgence concert is on the 19th. And I'm sure I'm going to have extra tickets. Ima just throw them away =D NIN is 19 days away. Woot to that.
AND HERE IS MORE. BECAUSE MYSPACE DOESN'T DESERVE ALL THE GOODNESS THAT IS ME.
